Coast Consulting Engineers Welcomes Ross Dobson

We're delighted to welcome Ross Dobson to Coast Consulting Engineers, who joins as an Associate. With a strong background in structural engineering across the UK and France, Ross brings a unique blend of technical rigour, creativity and commercial awareness to the team. Over the past three years, he has successfully run his own consultancy, delivering projects ranging from alpine chalets to historical watermills in Brittany, as well as residential, commercial and artistic structures.

Ross began his career on high-profile, technically demanding projects in the UK, including award-winning cultural and architectural schemes. His expertise spans timber, steel, concrete and masonry design, with a particular focus on efficient, well-considered solutions that balance sustainability with affordability for clients.

Returning to the Northeast, Ross is excited to apply his international experience in a collaborative consulting environment and help diversify and strengthen Coast's structural engineering portfolio as we continue to grow.

Outside of work, Ross enjoys staying active, particularly snowboarding, as well as cooking and baking. He has a strong interest in travel and exploring new cultures, and enjoys learning new skills, including developing his computing and programming knowledge. Most importantly, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and young son.
