Meet The team

Peter Lennox

Director

Peter has over 25 years’ experience in the design of infrastructure projects, working primarily as lead engineer during this period. He started his career at Fairhurst, before undertaking the role of Senior Engineer at Persimmon Homes, North East. Peter moved back to consultancy with Arup where he was project manager on a number of large-scale, publicly funded highway schemes.

Peter has worked on key regional projects such as the Metro Centre bus link and mall extension and the A1058 Coast Road/A19 grade separated major junction improvement.

Together with Richard, they built Coast to be what it is today – a multidisciplinary engineering consultancy providing bespoke service and design to clients. Peter’s priority is driving excellence in engineering design and ensuring staff morale stays high, with development and learning as core values of the company.

In his personal life, Peter is father of two and a passionate boatman and fisherman. He uses this passion for good as a volunteer of the Tynemouth RNLI crew. He is also a firm petrol head, pool player, golfer and dreams one day of retiring in the sunshine in Spain.

Richard Hall

Director

Richard has worked in the industry for over 25 years. Initially gaining experience of maritime civil engineering at Royal Haskoning, Richard moved to WSP where he undertook the role of Design Engineer on various infrastructure schemes. Richard worked alongside Peter at Persimmon Homes North East, and later led the Civils team as Associate at 3e Consulting Engineers.

Richard has led the civil engineering on several large scale regional schemes, including a wind turbine production facility on the banks of the River Tyne, North Tyneside Police Head Quarters at Silverlink and an urban regeneration joint venture at the west end of Newcastle consisting of 1800 new residential units.

Like Peter, Richard now leads on procuring Coast’s projects and developing and advancing the company whilst still being a hands-on Civil Engineer. On a professional level, Richard is a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers and volunteers as a mentor for the organisation.

Richard is the proud father of two girls, currently helping them towards GCSE’s and A Levels. In his spare time he is an avid Newcastle United fan and you’ll see him at most games, home and away, throughout the season. Richard also continues to play football, competing in five-a-side matches twice a week.
